Coatings & Paint Correction

PAINT CORRECTION Starting at $250

A large aspect of auto detailing is machine polishing. This is known as paint correction. Through machine polishing with dual action polishers, clean micro fiber or foam pads, and abrasive compounds and finishing polishes defects such as swirls, water spots, and light scratches are removed and the paint is perfected before applying a coat of wax, sealant, or nano coating.

Different levels of polishing can be performed based on the condition of the paint and the expectation of you the customer. Each step is one entire trip around the vehicle working in the compound or polish one small section at a time. This is a very time consuming process when done right, but the results are unbelievable.

  • 1 Step polish = 25-50% correction of light swirling
  • 2 Step polish = 50-75% correction of medium swirling, scratches, and other defects
  • 3 Step polish = 75-95% correction of heavy swirling, waterspots, and other defects

Due to the different levels of paint defects, overall condition of the vehicle, and the final expectations of each customer, visual inspection of the vehicle is required for a price quote.

COATINGS

Once your vehicle’s paint is corrected and returned back to a mirror finish, it is recommended to apply protection in the form of a coating to that paint. Coatings are many times thicker on the surface than just the short term life of a wax or paint sealant. This allows the coating to take the brunt of the elements, protecting your paint’s surface.

Also, coatings last much longer than traditional waxes or sealants. While waxes and sealants last a few weeks to a few months, the life span of a coating is measured in a couple years. Coatings will not wash away like waxes and sealants do.

Once your vehicle’s paint has been corrected, it only makes sense to protect that paint. Having a coating applied, whether it is the more affordable C.Quartz, C.Quartz Finest, or Opti-Coat PRO, the vehicle will be easier to maintain and preserve the corrected level of gloss and shine. Over the long term, it will eliminate the need to polish into the paint to remove defects, since defects will occur more so on the coating and less on the paint under the coating.

What is the difference between CQ Finest and UK edition?

UK and Finest are two very different products with different chemicals using different modifications and volumes of nano tech Si02 (Silica) and other ingredients.

  • Quartz Finest is the most exclusive coating at this time. It may only be purchased and installed by authorized CarPro installers. Every installer has been meticulously handpicked based on reputation for customer service and quality work. C.Quartz UK is still an amazing product, which can be purchased through CarPro-US.com, but by having a C.Quartz Finest installer apply UK, you are ensured that prep work prior to coating is correct and that the application of the coating is correct.
  • Application is different for the 2 coatings.
  • Finest has the most superior stain resistance than any coating we have tested including UK.
  • Both have excellent gloss but Finest has more gloss then any other (even slightly higher than UK).
  • UK has an equal “richening” affect equal to Finest
  • Durability: Finest wins the race here as well although UK is going to last as long as anyone of us “How does it look” types would need it to. Unless it literally only sits in the garage. Over the course of 2-3 years eventually you will want to have at least a light polish on the vehicle and add another coat. The truth is there is no such thing as permanent anything and no coating is “bulletproof”. Permanent is a poor word choice for something man made. Without cleaning and/or maintenance the environment will eventually win! Steel rusts, concrete disintegrates, weeds and bushes will tear through concrete if left to do so. Sunshine and the atmosphere oxidize all substances in one way or the other. The key to us is: How long does the coating help keep the vehicle looking good? The answer is longer than anything else. It should be noted you must care for your vehicle! It’s not a license to abuse. Instead it is a tool that with proper knowledge and products will keep your car looking beautiful for years.
  • Hardness (resistance to fine wash induced marring) is amazing with both products. Even in UK testing we have some real world test, 6 months after application – one side of car with UK and the other with only wax and sealants and you can literally see the difference in the few ultra fine swirls on the non-coated portions.
  • Finest has a more slick feel to the fingers than UK

Finest sheds dirt better than anything else we have used but UK is NO slouch! We tested it side by side with a competitor ceramic coating that sells for well over $200 just for purchasing a bottle of the product and UK beat it visibly.
